Okayama University Libraries consist of Central Library (on Tsushima Campus), Shikata Branch Library (on Shikata Campus), and Institute of Plant Science and Resources Branch Library (on Kurashiki Campus).
Our libraries hold over two million books, and 80% of them are on Tsushima Campus.
Central Library offers both quiet study rooms and common spaces for group discussion.

Persons who have...

(1) Student ID or faculty ID with IC chip

Your student ID or faculty ID can be used as a Library Card.
You can enter the library after your ID card or Library card is recognized by the card reader at the entrance gate.
*Please contact Circulation Desk if you forget your card.

(2) Student ID or faculty ID without IC chip

Please bring it to Circulation Desk in Central Library.*
You can make your library card.

If you belong to Shikata campus, please visit to Shikata Branch Library.

Visitors

 Welcome to the library!
Basically, the library is open for persons who are 18 years or older and who wish to utilize the library materials for research or learning purposes.

If you are a student of the Open University of Japan and want to make a Library Card, please visit the office of the Open University of Japan.

Enter the Library

There are two ways to apply for entering the library.

Appling for one-day free pass

Please fill in an application of one-day pass, and show your ID card to a staff.
You can enter the library, read books, and use reading room.

Issuing a Library Card

Please refer to the following section, “Library Card and Entry”.

Library Card and Entry

You can apply for issuing a Library Card.
If you meet the following conditions (1) and (2), you can choose a card with circulation function to borrow books or without the function.
If you meet only the condition (1), we issue you a card without the function.

Conditions: (1)18 or older, excluding high school students.
(2)Person who can visit to borrow and return materials.

Please bring your ID to Circulation Desk in Central Library.
If you want to make a Library Card with circulation function to borrow books, please bring ID with your current address.

Library Manners

Food and Drink Policy

- Eating is not permitted in Central Library.
Capped drink containers are permitted in the library (except near the computers).
Uncapped drink containers are permitted only in Relaxation Station, Language Learning Space and Learning Commons in the library.

Other Attention

- Smoking are prohibited on campus.
- Speaking on a mobile phone is permitted only in cellular phone booth* in the library.
*There are cellular phone booth on the 3rd floor of Main Building and the 2nd floor of West Building.
- Please return the materials to original locations after use.
