[For Members of Okayama University]Information about Library Service Relating to COVID-19 (Re-open on Sep. 14)

We presently provide library service for members of Okayama University, according to "Okayama University Guidelines on Activity Restrictions to Prevent the Spread of the Novel Coronavirus Infection".

We may change the range of services if the situation changes. Sorry for inconvenience and thank you for understanding.




Update History
・Apr. 1, 2023: The contact before visiting the IPSR Branch Library is no longer required (for member belongs to other campuses).
・Oct. 6, 2021: Re-started to lend laptop computers (in-library use).
・Oct. 1, 2021: Chenged the open hours of Central Library and Shikata Branch Library.
        Re-started to lend Individual Research Rooms and AV booths.
        Ended the service enable to borrow and return materials by mail.
・Sep. 13, 2021: Re-open on September 14.




Eligible People

  • Students and faculties of Okayama University
  • Professor emeritus of Okayama University
  • Members of the Joint Graduate School (Ph. D. Program) in Science of School Education, Hyogo University of Teacher Education (Only for those who are assigned to Okayama University)
  • People who passed the Okayama University entrance examination and are planning enter Okayama University.



When You Visit Library


Keep the measures to prevent the infection when you come to the libraries.
・Check your temperature.
・Do not come to the libraries if you have symptoms of cold and loss of taste or smell.
・Do not come to the libraries if your family have symptoms stated above.
・If you need to use trains to Okayama Station,
  ・Avoid rush hours and keep distance with other passengers.
  ・Make sure that the car is ventilated.
  ・Wash your hand or use hand sanitizer after you get off the train.
  ・In principle, do not use public transport from Okayama Station to the campus. If you need to use busses, avoid crowded bus.

・We recommend you to wear a mask in the library.It is allowed not to wear a mask due to your intention.

In Shikata Branch Library, we ask you to keep wearing a mask. It is allowed not to wear a mask when you keep distance from other users and don't speak.

・Keep distance with other users.
・We keep windows open for ventilation. It may be cooler or hotter due to the open windows.

Central Library

Open Hours

 Weekdays: 8 a.m. – 11 p.m.
 Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

*We shorten the open hours during vacations. Check Annual Calendar for detail.

Services
We reduce the number of desks and chairs, use them only for your study.

【Available Services】
 ○ Borrowing and returning materials
 ○ Copying of materials in the library.
 ○ Use of reading desk.
 ○ Use of individual study rooms.
 ○ Printing out materials using library printers. (Only from user-own computers)
   →You need to install a driver for library printer in advance.
 ○ ILL service (ordering books and photocopy in other libraries)
 ○ Borrowing and returning of Okayama Prefectural Library's materials reserved on the internet.
 ○ Application and renewal of library card.
 ○ Use of study rooms for group (only for classes and on-campus training).
  Please check facility availability information for room detail.
 ○ Borrowing of laptop computers.

【Unavailable Services】
 × Use of study rooms not for classes nor on-campus training.
 × Use of library computers.
 × Borrowing of projector and other equipment.

Shikata Branch Library

Open Hours

 Weekdays: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
 Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

We shorten the open hours during vacations. Check Annual Calendar for detail.
*You need to have student ID card or Library Card to enter the library.
*User must exit at 8 p.m. and re-enter using special entrance service.
*Special entrance service will start after the patrol by staff in the library.
*Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are available only for special entrance all day.
Special entrance service allows you to enter the Shikata Branch Library while the library is closed. For the time being, this service is restricted to students in clinical training, undergraduate students belong to Shikata Campus, and faculty.
