Since April, we have been experiencing mass downloading of electronic resources including e-journals, e-books, and databases.
The following acts are examples of mass (systematically) downloading.
・Downloading files in advance that may be read in the future.
・Downloading more than the usage limit, such as downloading specific volumes (nor all of one issue) of e-journals or titles of e-books in bulk.
If any unauthorized use of electronic resources, including mass downloading, occurs, it will lead to serious problems, such as "the suspension of the use of electronic resources for the Okayama University".
When using e-journals, e-books, databases, etc., be sure to use them within the scope of each e-resource's Terms & Conditions, in addition to the basic prohibitions.
Please note the following points about “mass downloading” in particular.
・Do not use download support programs, file acquisition tools, P2P software, etc.
Do not use add-ons for WWW browsers that include similar functions.
・Please download only the articles you will read at that time, even if you are downloading manually.
・Opening multiple full-text or PDF files in a short period of time may be detected by the publisher as a mass download or mass access.
